These Cards were part of a series of Cards Depicting
Indians and the Wild West first issued in 1933. The First issue of these cards was a set
of 24 cards. There were a number of different issues over the years 1933-40 with a total of
216 different cards actually issued. The two types of wrappers for this issue of Indian
Gum cards are shown on the right. There were three variants of the Type 1 wrapper Click on
the Type 1 wrapper to see the three variants of this wrapper. The Type 1 wrapper also

There were also varients of the Type 2 wrapper. Click on the Type 2 wrapper to see two of
the varients of this wrapper. All of the series issued between 1933 and 1940 had green
writing on the backs of the cards. Click on the card image on the right to get a larger
view of the back of the card. After World War II Goudey attempted to re-enter the bubble gum
market in 1947-48 with a new issue of 96 cards. The
new issue of 96 cards had black writing on the back and a different numbering scheme than
