In 1940, Many Americans were preoccupied with our country's defences, which according to Goudey Gum's "First Column Defenders," were pretty darned strong. Each card front contains a multi-color drawing surrounded by red, white and frame lines. The back text, which can be found in blue or black ink, is intensely patriotic and often includes quotes from famous American soldiers and writers.
